Stakeholder Update: Federal Government Shutdown
Your Ventura Housing team is closely monitoring developments as the federal government remains shut down.
Here’s what you need to know:
HUD has confirmed that Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) funding will continue as scheduled for both November and December 2025, and our agency has received funding for November. There is no immediate impact on your services, programs, or payments—business will continue as usual.
For Public Housing, operating funds for November have been obligated, ensuring no disruption to current operations. However, funding for December remains uncertain, and HUD has indicated that additional guidance will be provided as the situation develops.
We understand some residents may be affected by potential delays in CalFresh benefits due to the shutdown. Those needing food or financial assistance can connect with the Community Services Department (CSD) for a list of available community resources (Gonzalo at 805-568-7762 or Gabby at 805-864-2736).
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates as more information becomes available.
Thank you for being an important part of the Ventura Housing community.
